Music institute

At the Pyhäjoki branch, students can learn to play the flute, guitar, piano, cello, electric bass, electric guitar and violin. The lessons take place at the Saari School, the Municipal Hall and the Parish Hall. Learning other instruments usually requires travelling to either Kalajoki or Ylivieska.
Places at the music institute is through admission tests, which are held in the spring and announced in the local newspaper in March.
Pyhäjoki also has music playschool groups. You can register for the groups using the online registration form at ysmo.eepos.fi or via the office. More information from the institute secretary, tel. 044 4294 323.
Music institute students can ask to perform in various events. Through the music institute support association, performers may be paid a performance stipend as compensation, which is agreed on a case-by-case basis. Requests for performances are accepted through the teacher in charge of the branch: Anna-Mari Österberg tel. 040 843 1213.
