Energy supply - district heat

Pyhäjoki Municipality has its own biofuel heating plant south of the municipal centre. The main fuel is forest chips and the back-up fuel is light fuel oil. In the municipal centre, district heating is used to heat municipal and parish properties, as well as several private properties. Around 9,000 MWh of thermal energy is produced annually.

A connection contract is concluded with district heating subscribers in accordance with the terms and conditions of connection and sale. The connection charge and the basic charge are determined based on the water flow rate to the site. The flow rate is determined by the volume of the building to be heated. The consumed thermal energy and the basic charge are invoiced monthly
 

General principles or district heating subscriptions for private households (single-family home) 

•    Connection charge: €1,500, tax exempt and refundable.
•    Basic charge: €660/year + VAT, flow rate <0.2 m³/h
•    Energy price from 1 September 2024: €80.00/MWh + VAT
•    Plot pipeline construction costs, from the main pipeline to the shut-off valves, the connection charge is €150/m + VAT, including excavation work and infilling by machine
•    Connection pipeline max. length 70 m (recommendation <30 m)
•    Connection point is the property shut-off valves. Distance from the shut-off valve to the inside of the equipment room or similar room is around 1 m from the point of entry.
•    The heat supplier provides the heat metering device installed.
•    The customer arranges an unhindered excavation route on the plot.
•    Any trench excavation work, structural changes to the property, i.e. the openings needed to bring the district heating pipelines to the property (wall, plinth, floor) are to be made by the property owner at their own expense.
•    Yard finishing work after excavation has been carried out at the customer's expense.
•    Semi-detached, terraced and small apartment blocks are dimensioned on a case-by-case basis
•    The customer must use an installation company approved by the heat supplier for the connection of district heating.
